Marshall set for Bluebirds return

Cardiff could be boosted by the return of goalkeeper David Marshall when they host Brighton.

The Scot, sidelined with an ankle injury since December, returned to light training before Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday but was not risked and Russell Slade says there is 'a chance' he will be declared fit to face the Seagulls on Tuesday evening.

Slade will also assess Lee Peltier, who came off as a precaution in the second half having suffered tightness in his hip, but the former Huddersfield man looks likely to be declared fit and keep his place.

Scott Malone also sustained a knock and will be assessed as City look for their first win in six.

Fit-again midfielder Dale Stephens has been added to the Brighton squad after 10 months on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage.

On-loan defender Greg Halford is also available after missing three games with a calf injury and then being ineligible to face his parent club Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Striker Sam Baldock could return having missed the 3-2 home defeat by Forest due to a hamstring strain, but winger Solly March is a doubt after limping off with a calf injury.

Kazenga LuaLua came on for March in the first half, but he is unlikely to be thrown into the starting line-up just yet having been out since November with a knee injury.
