Key absentees for Bluebirds
Cardiff will be without a number of key players for their Capital One Cup home tie against AFC Wimbledon.
Central defender Bruno Manga has been advised to take another week's rest while he recovers from a knee injury, while striker Kenwyne Jones misses out with a calf strain and Federico Macheda is continuing his recovery from a back problem.
Jones could be available to face Championship opponents QPR at Loftus Road next Saturday, but Macheda is doubtful for that game and Ben Turner continues to be sidelined following ankle surgery.
Cardiff's opponents are under the direction of two former Bluebirds in manager Neal Ardley and his assistant Neil Cox.
AFC Wimbledon are expected to persevere with their 3-4-3 formation.
Boss Ardley is likely to take the opportunity to give his three-pronged strike force another chance to gel following Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Plymouth.
Tom Elliott, Lyle Taylor and Adebayo Akinfenwa showed promised against the Pilgrims but Ardley wants more from his forward trio if the experiment is to work.
AFC Wimbledon will be hoping for a better Capital One Cup performance than last season when they perished 3-1 at MK Dons in the first round.
