Cardiff handed Chopra lift

Michael Chopra remains out of Cardiff`s trip to Doncaster although the Bluebirds have been handed a major boost over the striker`s fitness.

Chopra was expected to miss the remainder of the season due a hamstring tear sustained in mid-March but scans have confirmed the injury is healing quicker than expected. The 11-goal forward is now running and set to force his way back into action sooner rather than later, although the Keepmoat Stadium clash comes too soon.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton will be assessed after he suffered a groin strain upon his return from five weeks out with a groin injury in last Saturday`s 4-1 win over Derby. City have been keen to stress the injury is not a recurrence of the previous problem but Heaton will be monitored ahead of Saturday, with loanees Stephen Bywater and Jason Brown competing to step in.

Centre-back Mark Hudson (knee) and goalkeeper David Marshall (elbow) remain long-term absentees.
