Cardiff extend Taylor loan deal

Cardiff have extended the loan of Aston Villa goalkeeper Stuart Taylor until the end of the season. The 28-year-old joined on loan last month as cover for Peter Enckelman and Tom Heaton who were both injured. Saturday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace was due to be his last game, but boss Dave Jones was keen to keep hold of him until the end of the season. Taylor will now be available should Cardiff miss out on automatic promotion and have to settle for the play-offs. Meanwhile, the Bluebirds have been boosted by the news that Enckelman could recover from a knee injury quicker than expected. The 32-year-old was originally ruled out for eight weeks in February after undergoing a knee operation. He was promptly joined by Heaton, on loan from Manchester United, who was sidelined for six weeks with a torn thigh muscle. Jones did bring in Coventry keeper Dimi Konstantopoulos as an emergency loan, but then brought in Taylor after the former Greece Under-21 international made costly errors.
