A winning start for Malky Mackay as triallist Rudy Gestede scores the winning goal. Malky Mackay (right, yelling out instructions) played a different side in each half with the goal coming in the first half. The culmination of a week in the heat of Southern Spain was victory for City in front of a band of travelling fans who witnessed the first game of Mackay's reign. Cardiff started with:   T Heaton, K McNaughton, L Naylor, S Taiwo, M Hudson, A Evans, A Wildig, P Whittingham, R Gestade, R Earnshaw, C Conway. Gestede is a tall young French striker and it was his low shot on 25 mins that won the match.
