Cardiff case adjourned

Cardiff will be given more time to pay off their £1.9million debt to HM Revenue and Customs after their case to avoid a winding-up order was adjourned for the fourth time.

A decision was taken at a High Court hearing on Wednesday morning to adjourn the case by a further 42 days, meaning the Bluebirds will be due back in court on June 16.

The Coca-Cola Championship club, who face Leicester in the play-off semi-finals, recently confirmed new investment from a Malaysian consortium, with chairman Peter Ridsdale to stand down at the end of this month.

If Cardiff can win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs, which will be decided before they are due back in court, it will put them in a much stronger financial position.
