Cardiff and Reading charged after fracas at CCS

The FA and the FAW have charged both Reading and Cardiff with issues of improper conduct after the teams 2 - 2 draw last Tuesday. There was an incident when Cardiff were awarded a last minute free kick that saw Mikele Liegertwood strike Michael Chopra and that resulted in a three match ban for the Reading player after he accepted the charge.Cardiff City FC face two charges relating to a breach of FAW Rule 24.2.13 for the alleged failure of its players to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion during and following the conclusion of the match.In addition, Cardiff City's Craig Bellamy has been charged with a breach of FAW Rule 24.2.9 for his alleged improper conduct following the conclusion of the match. The charge is in relation to an incident in or around the tunnel area.A Cardiff club statement said: "We acknowledge receipt of these charges and let it be known that we will respond within the 10 day guidelines as set by the FAW."Reading FC face two breaches of FA Rule E20 having failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour in or around the 90th minute; and having failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour in the tunnel area following the end of match.
