Bothroyd sets sights on Gunners
The 26-year-old has hit eight goals in 22 league starts this season as Cardiff have surged towards the summit of the Championship.[LNB]A run of 12 games unbeaten, including seven victories, has set the Welsh side on the trail of promotion to the Premier League, but their attention will be focused on reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday.[LNB]Cardiff were runners-up to Portsmouth last May, losing the final 1-0, and Bothroyd will be crucial if they are to emulate their cup success of last season.[LNB]And the forward, who left Arsenal in 2000 when they were still based at Highbury, views the fixture as a perfect opportunity to fulfil both his and his club's ambitions.[LNB]"It would definitely be great to score against my old team at the Emirates," he told the club's official website.[LNB]"I have not played at the Emirates yet and I would like to go there and score in front of the Cardiff fans and the Arsenal fans as well as my family and friends."[LNB]The Bluebirds held Arsene Wenger's side of international stars to a goalless draw at Ninian Park back on January 25 to set up the replay.[LNB]Bothroyd, who has scored in Cardiff's last two games, insists they must adopt a similar game plan to frustrate their Premier League opponents.[LNB]"The chance has not gone. Anything can happen in any given game and we just have to go out there and do what we did last time," he continued.[LNB]"It is a big game for us and we want to put in a good account for us and we are looking forward to it.[LNB]"We have to press them. If we give them time to knock it around, we have seen what they can do against some of the best teams in the world.[LNB]"So we have to get tight and see what happens. We did that in the first half when we played them last and had some opportunities and we were a bit unfortunate. We will have to do that again in this game."[LNB]Bothroyd is particularly looking forward to the challenge of facing Arsenal defenders William Gallas and Kolo Toure, adding: "Gallas is a world-class player and so is Toure, so we will have to work hard to get anything from them."[LNB]The former England Under-21 international has endured a difficult period since leaving north London.[LNB]He has had seven different clubs in eight years, including Blackburn and Perugia in Italy, but each time he has failed to settle.[LNB]However, since joining Cardiff from Wolves in August 2008, Bothroyd has found his feet in Wales and has recieved many plaudits in recent months.[LNB]"Apart from Arsenal I have not enjoyed my football as I have here," he added.[LNB]"The players and the fans are terrific. They have all made me feel really at home and hopefully my good form can continue."[LNB][LNB]
