Bothroyd "gutted" to miss derby

Cardiff hot-shot Jay Bothroyd has revealed his derby despair having picked up a fifth booking of the season which rules him out of Sunday`s eagerly-anticipated encounter against local rivals Swansea. Bothroyd, the Championship`s leading scorer, kickstarted the 3-1 victory over Norwich with his 10th league goal of the season only to be shown a yellow card just after the hour mark which means he will now serve a one-match suspension. That ban could not have come at a worse time with south Wales neighbours Swansea next up at the Cardiff City Stadium in what is, similar to recent clashes, yet another crunch promotion meeting. The Bluebirds top the second tier with the Swans flying high in third and Bothroyd told City`s official website: "I`m gutted. I`m disappointed I can`t play in the derby but we have to deal with that now. Our squad this year is tremendous and the likes of Keogh (Andy) and Koumy (Jason Koumas) are there to come in. "My tackle against Leeds was highlighted a lot last week but I went into that challenge with Becchio (Luciano, Leeds striker) to win the ball, not to hurt him. I`m not that sort of player. "I think that might have been in the back of the officials` minds against Norwich because I didn`t touch their player. I`ve gone in to win the ball, their player has jumped up in the air and the referee saw fit to book me for that."
