Jay Bothroyd is battiling to be fit for Sunday's League opener and he's sent out a positive message to the supporters. Speaking to Cardiff City Player, Bothroyd has called for the squad to do it for the fans this year."Cardiff fans did a fantastic job for us last season and did everything they could to lift us - and now we can do the same for them," he said."Everybody, players, staff and fans alike, were sickened when we missed out on promotion. That hurt every one of us and we will use that feeling, which we never want to experience again, to drive us on. But we can't dwell on the disappointment against Blackpool."The only way we can get over it completely is by earning success in 2010-11. That's the aim. We remain positive and weare looking forward to that opening match against Sheffield United."What is happening off the pitch, away from the football side, is nothing to do with the players. That's being dealt with by people upstairs and we must focus on playing football."We have a strong squad and there is a lot of togetherness among players. No matter what is happening around the club our role is to stick together and stay strong. That's what we are doing."Cardiff City Player is a subscription service providng excellent coverage including match highlights and pre and post match interviews.
