Bothroyd bubble burst

Jay Bothroyd came back down to earth with a bang on Saturday, with Cardiff assistant manager Terry Burton admitting the striker will be left reflecting on his wastefulness in front of goal. Just three days after winning his first senior international cap with England and receiving the praise that came with becoming Cardiff`s first ever player to represent the Three Lions, Bothroyd spurned two glorious chances as City went down 2-0 to Nottingham Forest. It was the Bluebirds` second successive home defeat and saw them surrender top spot in the Championship table to QPR ahead of this weekend`s huge clash at Loftus Road. Burton said: "Jay Bothroyd will be disappointed with the two chances he missed but that's football. "Despite suffering from laryngitis, Dave Jones (manager) still gave the players a rollicking at half-time. "If goals are scored against us through clever play fair enough but they were scored because of our defensive errors."
