Bothroyd aiming for Watford return?

Jay Bothroyd's hamstring injury is still causing concern and it looks like Jay may be out for a couple more weeks. What was initially thought to be a minor problem has already seen Jay out for a month and cardiffcitymad understands it maybe another two weeks before he is fit. This should ensure that Jay will be going nowhere during January and Dave Jones is still trying to get Bothroyd to sign a new contract."We're trying to build, I'm not trying to dismantle and we want Jay to stay and he is part of it here at the moment," Jones said. "I haven't got a problem with Jay, none whatsoever. I'd like him to sign. If he doesn't want to sign that's his prerogative. "I'm the only manager ever to offer him an extension to his contract, so that tells you something. "We think a lot of him here but if he doesn't want to sign you're not going to force him to sign. "If you throw stupid money at it... the club's been in that situation before and we can't do that just like anybody else." Bothroyd is out of contract in the summer. After getting an England cap this season I would guess that Bothroyd sees himself in the Premier League next season. I think that getting promoted is Jones' only chance of getting Jay to sign, but that's just my opinion.Like with any player you can never say never and Jones was realistic to admit that anything could happen."There'll always be speculation but we don't want anybody to go anywhere," he continued, "but if it happens then you get on with it and you move on. "It's not all about one person or two people, the football club will be here for a very, very long time."
