Boss coy on Bellamy and Goodwillie
A very professional answer from Malky Mackay when asked about both players. “Bellamy is Manchester City’s player and I won’t talk about him – or Goodwillie, who is Dundee United’s player. “It was fantastic for Craig he came back to this football club last season and great for everyone here. “At the time no-one could believe it in football when Cardiff City pulled off the coup. Right now, though, he is back at Manchester City with a season left on his contract.” Mackay spoke to the press as he returned home from the pre season tour to Spain. “My first month at Cardiff City has been fast paced and we have made a lot of changes in a short time," he continued. “But there is no need to rush. The transfer window is open and stays that way until September 1. We have that time to make sure we bring in the right players. No door is closed, none at all. “We will take our time, talk things through, and if it takes a little longer than ideally we would have wanted, and we get the players we want, then so be it. “I know this division and I know the type of players we want. Everyone goes into the race to win it and we will be one of the clubs trying to win it.”
