Bluebirds welcome back Bothroyd

10 November 2010 13:09
Jay Bothroyd is available for selection after missing the weekend's defeat against Swansea through suspension. Bothroyd should return to the side at the expense of Andy Keogh. It's been well documented before that Craig Bellamy should only play one game a week so he's a likely omission for tonight's match against Reading at the Madejski. Chris Burke is likely to start after being on the bench on Sunday.City are likely to play Bothroyd and Chopra upfront with Whittingham and Burke on the wings.Jones may make changes in central midfield as well. Seyi Olofinjana is reported to be just 50/50 and will another game today be too much for Danny Drinkwater? Steve McPhail and Jason Koumas ready replacements if needed.City will hope to improve on the wretched November performances of seasons gone by. The incentive is there. Win tonight and City reclaim top spot in the Championship.Reading manager Brian McDermott will pick from an unchanged squad.McDermott has no new injury or suspension problems as his side look to bounce back from Saturday's 3-1 defeat at QPR and keep pace with the play-off contenders. The Royals are without winger Jimmy Kebe again due to the knee injury that has forced him to miss the previous two games and Icelandic midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson, sidelined since mid-September with a hamstring injury, is still out.Strikers Noel Hunt and Simon Church are both pushing for recalls after starting on the substitutes' bench in recent weeks, but Shane Long was the first man to score from open play against QPR at Loftus Road this season and will expect to retain his place.
