Bluebirds wait on Bellamy

Jay Bothroyd could make a return to Cardiff`s matchday 18 for their FA Cup third-round replay at home to Stoke. The striker has been sidelined for longer than expected having sustained a troublesome hamstring injury in the early stages of the draw against Preston on December 4. But having trained for the past few days Bothroyd could find himself playing a part against the Potters, with Saturday`s crucial Championship fixture at home to Watford a more realistic fixture for him to start. Manager Dave Jones is unlikely to risk Craig Bellamy`s troublesome knee with Saturday in mind after the forward played 90 minutes against Norwich at the weekend. Striker Jon Parkin could make his home debut having made his long-awaited bow at Carrow Road, with `The Beast` missing the original 1-1 draw against former employers Stoke due to a slight knee strain. Tinkering is likely against the Potters, with Cardiff`s line-up certain to be very similar to that which ran the Premier League outfit close at the Britannia Stadium, but Jones said: "We've got 20 players and the 20 players are strong so it doesn't matter what team I put out, I will still be looking for that team to be strong and for that team to try and get a result. Otherwise I wouldn't have them in my squad."
