Bluebirds sweat on Chopra

Cardiff are anxiously awaiting scan results on Michael Chopra's hamstring injury to discover whether he will play any further part in the club's promotion battle. The striker was stretchered off 25 minutes into Sunday's 2-2 draw with Barnsley nursing a serious-looking injury, which led to him leaving the Cardiff City Stadium with his hamstring heavily strapped. Chopra, who is already carrying an ankle problem, has scored nine league goals for City this term and his potential loss will come as a big blow with Jay Bothroyd struggling to recapture his early-season form. He is certainly set to miss out in the short-term, meaning Saturday's trip to Millwall will come too soon before the enforced international break, but it is how much of a part he will play in the season-defining eight games to follow which will be of a concern to Jones. "We'll probably have him scanned first thing Monday morning and see where we are from there," said Jones after Sunday's draw. "Until they scan it we won't really know."
