Bluebirds seek investment

Reports suggest chairman Peter Ridsdale and director Alan Whiteley have travelled to Malaysia this week to discuss the possibility of investment with an interested party, although it is not believed to be concerning a takeover of the Championship club. Ridsdale is also thought to have meetings arranged with various sources regarding stadium naming rights, shirt sponsorship and other issues. Cardiff have no main shirt sponsorship deal in place ahead of the new campaign, although that could change before Saturday's opener against Scunthorpe. Elsewhere, the club's final preparations for their curtain raiser against the Iron have hit a slight snag after Wednesday's pre-season friendly against Llanelli had to be cancelled due to a sickness bug among Cardiff's youth-team players. Trialist Vincent Pericard was one such first-team name expected to feature in the encounter but the Bluebirds remain hopeful another date can be arranged.
