Bluebirds hold McCormack talks

The Scotland international bagged 21 goals for the Bluebirds in just 38 league appearances last season to finish joint runner-up in the Championship's top goalscorers list. The 22-year-old's prolific form in what was his first full season in English football since his move from Motherwell last summer has attracted plenty of attention, with rumours of summer interest aplenty. But despite only signing a three-year contract last summer, Cardiff are looking to tie him to a new, improved deal that will keep with the Welsh club until 2013. Chairman Peter Ridsdale told the South Wales Echo: "We are in talks with Ross about extending his deal. And we expect to be able to announce news within the next few weeks. "When we signed Ross I agreed to review his contract if he had a good first season in the Championship. Everybody, I'm sure, will accept Ross had a good season. We are currently negotiating on level of pay and length of contract. Those talks, we hope, will be concluded over the next few weeks."
