Cardiff failed to get back to winning ways in the Coca-Cola Championship as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Blackpool at the Cardiff City Stadium.

The Bluebirds were playing for the first time since blowing a 4-0 half-time lead to draw 4-4 at basement boys Peterborough on December 28.

Mark Hudson's ninth-minute header from Peter Whittingham's free-kick saw them take the lead and Josh Magennis almost made it two, with his header hitting the bar.But Blackpool ensured they got a share of the spoils when Charlie Adam netted from close range just seconds after half-time.

Derby would have been wishing their game at home to Scunthorpe had been one of the many to fall foul to the weather after they were humbled 4-1.

Coventry also strolled to a comfortable win as they saw off Barnsley 3-1 at the Ricoh Arena.

After Stephen Foster nodded against the bar for the Tykes, two goals in three minutes put the Sky Blues in charge. Freddy Eastwood (24) headed his fifth goal in six games before Sammy Clingan rifled home from 12 yards.

Jonathan Macken's header gave the visitors hope but Clinton Morrison scored in stoppage time to ease Coventry's nerves.

In League One a brace from Grant Holt fired Norwich to their ninth straight home win as they beat Exeter 3-1.

Holt headed the Canaries into the lead in the eighth minute and Chris Martin doubled their advantage in the 77th minute with his 13th of the season. Marcus Stewart pulled one back for Exeter with nine minutes to go but Holt grabbed his second of the game seconds later.

Elsewhere, Leeds were held to a 1-1 draw by Wycombe.
