Bellamy strike caps an emotional week
Craig Bellamy scored City's 4th after setting up two other goals in City's 4 - 0 win over Doncaster and admitted he's never known a week like it. "It's probably one of the most emotional weeks I've had in football," he said "The tension hit me on Thursday and I felt it on Friday like you wouldn't believe."The manager saw it and told me to relax and just play my normal game. He just said keep things simple and let yourself get into it."I've got a lot of experience but to play here, and with the news that has been going on all week, well, I wasn't prepared for that."This has been the most incredible couple of days for me and to finish it off like this... I can't really describe how much it means to me."If I'm honest, I was more worried about this game than any other in my career."Bellamy promised there was a lot more to come from him as he steps up his fitness over the next few weeks."I got a goal and a couple of assists in there but, playing-wise, I can do miles better," he said. "But I expected that because I haven't played hardly any football. The first half-hour or 40 minutes for the next couple of weeks are going to be tough."But the longer the game goes on, because I am a speed and endurance athlete, there will be more gaps.""I can't get Cardiff promoted on my own," he warned as he expects help from the rest of the squad."I'm not a good enough player to do that. We've got a lot of very good players at this club and they've all got to step up to the plate."I've played in this division before with Norwich and it hasn't changed. There are no favourites because anyone can beat anyone."But we've got a really good chance because we've got people who can score goals and change games like Michael Chopra, Jay Bothroyd, Chris Burke and Peter Whittingham."I can have an off-day, but if that happens we've got other players who can win games for us."
