Bellamy facing FAW charge

Craig Bellamy will face disciplinary charges on March 16th as a result of an alleged incident after Cardiff City's home game with Reading on February 1st. A short statement on the FAW website reads:"A Disciplinary Panel of the Football Association of Wales will be convened on the 16th March 2011 to consider the disciplinary charges preferred against Cardiff City FC and Craig Bellamy in relation to the allegations that arose from the Football League Championship match, Cardiff City v Reading played on 1st February 2011."There was a fracas late in the game after Cardiff were awarded a 96th minute free kick which Bellamy scored to earn a draw for City. There were altercations then and in the tunnel afterwards that have already seen Reading's Mikele Liegertwood handed a three match ban by the FA for striking Michael Chopra.Bellamy has been charged with a breach of FAW Rule 24.2.9 for his alleged improper conduct following the conclusion of the match. The charge is in relation to an incident in or around the tunnel area.
