Bellamy confident of Cardiff promotion

Craig Bellamy believes Cardiff are on course to achieve promotion to the Premier League despite extending their winless run to three games with a 1-1 draw against bottom-of-the-table Preston.

The Bluebirds retained second place in the Championship table thanks to Andy Keogh's injury-time equaliser, but bitter rivals Swansea closed the gap on the automatic promotion places to just a point with victory over Ipswich.

However, skipper Bellamy told the club's official website: "At the moment we are not playing at the level we are capable of and there's loads we can improve on. That`s what excites me about this team this season, there's a lot more to come from us.

"Personally I know I need to get better and I can guarantee everyone that I will do that. As a team we need to improve and again, I can assure everyone we'll do that.

"Let's remember we are second from top, not second from bottom. We`re all very impatient for success this year as we've waited so long for it . We're nearly there now and we`ve got a great chance this season to see it through.

"We're Cardiff City and expectations are high here. We're aiming to provide this club with top-flight football and I'm sure we're capable of achieving that."
