Barnes-Homer brace sends Silkmen through

Matthew Barnes-Homer scored twice in the late stages as minnows Macclesfield pulled off a stunning late turnaround to beat Cardiff 2-1 and reach the FA Cup fourth round.

The Blue Square Bet Premier side were trailing before Barnes-Homer fired home at the far post in the 85th minute, and he powered a penalty past Joe Lewis three minutes later to spark scenes of wild celebration at Moss Road.

Cardiff full debutant Nathaniel Jarvis looked to have given the much-changed Bluebirds victory when he scrambled the ball home in the 57th minute. And the visitors had chances to kill off their hosts before Barnes-Homer took his goals haul to 20 for the season and send the underdogs through at the expense of the npower Championship leaders.
