Taylor's name has been linked for a little while now and the smart money is on a medical and a new contract in Cardiff on Monday. Taylor is a 24 year old left back who has spent his career (apart from two loan spells) at Middlesbrough. He has represented England at all youth levels and is now ready for a new challenge. It's believed terms with City have been agreed and he is expected to sign after a medical this coming Monday, beating off competition for his signature from Bristol City. “It was my dream to play for Middlesbrough since I joined them when I was nine and it’s a hard thing to be leaving,” Taylor said. “I’ll miss it - I have a lot of friends here in the club. “But at this point of my career it’s probably the time I should be moving on and experience something new in football and life.” Boro boss Tony Mowbray was hanging on to every last chance that Taylor would stay at The Riverside and quipped: "He will be with us by Monday or he will be standing in Cardiff or Bristol holding up his new shirt."
