"While the rape and conviction of Evans is indeed unfortunate, this is only the tip of the iceberg according to a shocking new book titled, "The Dark Side of Sports: Exposing the Sexual Culture of Collegiate and Professional Athletes." The author reveals that athletes' sexually deviant and aggressive practices are often rampant in a variety of sports and at all levels beginning in teenage levels of sports. Coaches and parents need to know this because they cannot address what they do not know is occurring and sometimes in a rampant fashion. More startling is the unimaginable ways that young women are often targeted sexually by groups of athletes. Perhaps Evans' rape conviction and this book are a wake-up call to begin cleaning up our sports and our athlete cultures because nothing will change until we start acknowledging there is a big, silent problem occurring within all sports today."
