Cambridge United striker Dave Kitson looks set to move to Reading after U's boss John Taylor announced that he had reluctantly accepted a bid from the Royals for the highly-rated hitman.

Reading have been chasing the forward for several months and have finally had a £250,000 bid accepted by the Nationwide Division Three side.

"The deal is worth £250,000 plus additional add-ons, and is subject to the boy agreeing personal terms with Reading and passing a medical," Taylor told the club's official website.

"We've got Daniel Webb here at the moment on loan from Hull and we might look at doing something longer term with him, but obviously if this goes through we've got to look out for another striker too."

The 22-year-old forward has scored 40 goals in 97 league starts for Cambridge United since moving to the Abbey Stadium from Arlesey Town in March 2001.
