Cambridge United have signed New Zealand Under-23 internationals Steven Turner and James Pritchett for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-olds have recently taken part in New Zealand's unsuccessful Olympic qualifying campaign and have arrived at the Abbey Stadium in a deal set up by their national federation.

U's boss John Taylor told the club's official website: "They're in the Olympic Under-23 side and they've got a decent pedigree.

"We're going to have a good long look at them and if we think they're good enough we'll put them in the team."

Turner is a central midfielder, while Pritchett's favoured position is on the right wing although he can also play as a central striker.
