Duo back in U's frame

Liam Hughes and Harrison Dunk return to contention for Cambridge as the U's prepare to host Portsmouth.

Ankle injuries have kept both players out in recent weeks but the midfielders are back in the squad for Saturday's game and may even start against Pompey as boss Richard Money looks for a first win in six league matches.

Tom Elliott came off injured last weekend in the defeat at Plymouth and the forward is a doubt, while Luke Chadwick and Rory Gaffney (ankle) will remain out.

Midfielder Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is expected to be included in the Cambridge squad following his arrival on loan from Peterborough this week.

Wes Fogden is edging closer to a return to the Portsmouth squad.

The midfielder has yet to make a first-team appearance this season after suffering a cruciate injury over the summer, but he has now come through two run-outs for Pompey's reserves.

Striker Paul McCallum is still suspended for the next three games having been hit with a seven-match ban following his red card at Southend in January.

Skipper Ben Chorley was back on the bench for last weekend's visit of Exeter after recovering from an ankle injury, and he may have to stay there if boss Andy Awford sticks with the side which ran out 1-0 winners.
