Appiah gets go-ahead for U's

Cambridge could be unchanged for the FA Cup tie against Fleetwood with Kwesi Appiah given the green light to play.

The five-goal striker has been given permission to feature by parent club Crystal Palace.

Derby loanee Tom Naylor is also available and Tom Elliott is expected to shrug off a groin injury but midfielder Ryan Donaldson is suspended after collecting five bookings.

"I know the FA Cup appears to have lost its magic for one or two of the big boys but I think it's turning around again," boss Richard Money told the club's official site.

Tom Hitchcock has been given permission to play, giving Fleetwood a much-needed attacking option.

The MK Dons loanee scored three minutes into his debut last week and will hope to retain his starting berth.

David Ball (leg) could be out for as long as four months, while fellow forward Jamille Matt (leg) is out for the season.

The Cod Army can welcome back both Steven Schumacher and Jamie Proctor from one-game suspensions.
