Uche Ikpeazu's brace helps Cambridge to comfortable victory over Forest Green

Uche Ikpeazu scored twice as Cambridge beat bottom side Forest Green 3-0 to earn their third straight home win in Sky Bet League Two.

Jabo Ibehre gave them the lead a quarter of an hour in, converting Medy Elito's centre from close range after he had been played in by George Maris.

Both sides could have scored by that point, with Ikpeazu dragging a shot well wide after a Forest Green clearance hit Elito, while David Forde made a fine save from Dan Wishart's free-kick.

Maris struck the bar for Cambridge from outside the area after Ibehre laid the ball off to him, while at the other end Leon Legge hacked off the line after Forde dropped Dale Bennett's cross under pressure from Christian Doidge.

Ikpeazu doubled the lead 10 minutes into the second half, cutting inside from the left and firing home via the far post, before scoring again six minutes later by lashing home left-footed when a right-wing cross fell to him in space.
