Glovers inflict defeat on bottom club Bury

Yeovil heaped further misery on 10-man Bury with a pulsating 2-1 victory at Huish Park.

Goals from defender Byron Webster - his second-ever career goal - and Sam Foley condemned Kevin Blackwell's winless Shakers to another League One defeat.

The Somerset side started brightly with Ed Upson, Keanu Marsh-Brown and James Hayter all coming close.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men after 27 minutes when midfielder Zac Thompson, on loan from Leeds, was shown a straight red card by referee Stuart Attwell for a two-footed lunge on Marsh-Brown.

Yeovil took the lead 10 minutes before the break when Upson's corner was fumbled by Trevor Carson, with Matt Doherty's resulting attempted clearance hitting Webster and ricocheting into the net.

The Glovers nearly doubled their advantage after the break when Foley and Paddy Madden fired over, but were pegged back after 74 minutes when another Leeds loanee, Dominic Poleon, stabbed home Peter Sweeney's corner.

However, Foley hit back two minutes later with a glancing header to secure the home side's victory.
