Windass miss costs Quakers dear

Debutant Jordan Robertson headed the Shakers in front in the 59th minute, but the hosts were given a golden chance to draw level with two minutes remaining as Brown brought down Curtis Main in the box. However, the Bury goalkeeper redeemed himself by keeping out Windass' tame penalty, ensuring Bury claimed a deserved three points. Bury had much the better of the first half but were unable to convert their dominance into goals. Robertson, signed on loan from Sheffield United on Friday, eventually gave Alan Knill's side the lead when he stooped to nod home David Worrall's cross. And Ryan Lowe saw his shot cleared off the line by Darlington skipper Steve Foster before Windass' late penalty agony.
