Bury boss Alan Knill could hand debuts to several players when his side begin their campaign at home to Port Vale. The Shakers have enjoyed a profitable recruitment drive during the summer and this week added Tom Lees, Phil Picken and Kyle Bennett to their squad. Defender Lees, 20, arrives on a six-month loan deal from Leeds and will boost Knill`s options at centre-half and right-back. Fellow defender Picken and promising attacking midfielder Bennett have both signed 12-month contracts. Joe Skarz, Peter Sweeney, Steven Schumacher, Andy Howarth, Andrai Jones, Krishnan Patel, Richie Branagan and Zach Rothwell could also make their debuts. Knill's only serious injury concern surrounds defender Ben Futcher, who is rated as 50-50 after sustaining an ankle injury during pre-season.
