Bury have rewarded manager Chris Casper with a new contract extension running until the summer of 2009. Casper has won a vote of confidence from the Shakers board, despite a recent run of ten games without a win that have seen the club slip down the League Two table. A statement from the Shakers confirmed: "Although recent results have been disappointing, the club are convinced that the manager and team can put this right quickly. "With the prospect of a number of quality young players coming into the squad next season, the board are convinced that the club is moving in the right direction within the constraints that we have to work. "The board of directors would urge all our supporters to get fully behind the team and manager and together we can move our club onwards and upwards."
