Shakers shun Adams offer

Bury have turned down a bid from another League Two club for midfielder Nicky Adams, who is out of contract at Gigg Lane this summer.

The 21-year-old seems all but certain to leave the Shakers in the near future, but the club say that they will hold out for a good deal if Adams does opt to move on.

Director Ian Harrop told the Bury Times: "We have had an offer from another club, but we found it totally unacceptable.

"We have indicated to the player that we want to keep him and have made what we think is an excellent offer.

"What is more, we have promised that we would not stand in his way if the opportunity to progress his career at a higher level came about.

"We have indicated how much we think the club would be looking at and it is far in excess of what they have offered."
