Shakers boss thanks United for help

The Shakers have seen their home games against Darlington and Macclesfield fall victim to the big freeze in the past week, while training facilities have proved hard to come by. Knill therefore organised a training session at United's Carrington complex on Tuesday and a behind-closed-doors friendly against their reserve team on Thursday. Knill told the Bury Times: "It has been hard to find places to train. And some of the places are just too small to do the technical work we want. "We are grateful to Manchester United for letting us work with and alongside them and they were pleased to have us. Their first team is in Doha but the reserves have been left behind and they worked with us. "The players enjoyed it and that is one of the key things for us at the moment. We have to keep a lid on the boredom and frustration because the lads just want to get out there and play. They have that competitive edge."
