Shakers stunned by Stockport

Stockport managed their first win in 10 games as goals from debutant Matt Paterson and Antony Elding earned a 2-1 victory over Bury. Paterson, who arrived on loan from Southend this week, tested Cameron Belford in the Bury goal twice in the opening minutes, and his all-action game saw the home side's confidence grow as the half progressed, culminating in two gilt-edged chances for Adam Griffin. The Shakers briefly came to life just before the break when both Andy Bishop and Efe Sodje managed to miss with close-range headers in consecutive attacks, but it was County who continued to pressurise a disjointed Bury side into the second half. Their just reward came on 66 minutes when Paterson' s strike from the edge of the area hit the target via Belford's out-stretched arm. With The Hatters on top it came as no surprise when Antony Elding increased the lead from close range with six minutes to go, although Ryan Lowe did pull a consolation back for the visitors in the dying minutes when he lashed into the roof of the net.
