Managerless Bury begin life after Alan Knill without Steven Schumacher for the home clash with Oxford. The midfielder begins a two-match ban following his red card in last weekend`s goalless draw at Port Vale. However, several players have recovered from a sickness bug that swept through the dressing room prior to last weekend`s match. The players affected include Chris Holroyd, Phil Picken, Richard Eckersley, Michael Jones and Kyle Bennett. Striker Andy Bishop is on the treatment table after going through another knee operation and veteran defender Efe Sodje remains sidelined as he recovers from a broken arm. Bury announced the departure of Knill on Thursday and revealed a compensation package had been agreed for him to take over at npower Championship strugglers Scunthorpe.
