Bury have revealed they failed to sign defender Mark Lynch because they could not afford to match the offer made by Stockport. Former Manchester United trainee Lynch has joined Paul Simpson's side after the offer from Bury fell short of the deal on the table at Edgeley Park. The Shakers said in a statement: "Mark Lynch signed for Stockport County on Wednesday with Alan Knill stating that Bury could not match the offer made to him by Paul Simpson." Bury have also confirmed that Simon Whaley, Sam Hewson and Jermaine Johnson will not be offered deals at Gigg Lane.
