The midfielder was released by Hull earlier this week after having previously enjoyed a loan spell with the Shakers during the recent campaign.[LNB]And Knill said: "I have to say that with John Welsh's wages, we were fortunate that Hull paid a fair bit of his wages.[LNB]"He is a player that interests me and I think he's a really good player, he did well for us. He probably didn't play as much for us as I would have wanted him to but the team did really well.[LNB]"He does interest me and I'll speak to John, I said I would anyway. I have to say that his wages when he was at Hull were well in excess of what we could pay but to be fair he's a top quality player so you expect that."[LNB]Meanwhile, the Shakers chief is closing in on the second of two as yet unnamed summer signings: "We've signed one but we don't want to let it out until we've signed the other really because I want to do them both together."[LNB][LNB]
