Bury caretaker boss Richie Barker has been named the npower League Two manager of the month for April. Barker, who took over from Alan Knill in March, oversaw a six-game unbeaten run which ensured promotion to League One. He told Sky Sports News: "It is an excellent award to receive in your first month. Obviously the players deserve massive credit for it, they should name it the team of the month as they should take the credit." Having guided the club to promotion, Barker will now hope to pip Chesterfield to the title on the final day of the season before discussing his future with the Gigg Lane board. He added: "It is not something we have discussed because in the last month we have been working hard to gain promotion and then to win the league. No doubt we will have a chat after the weekend. "If I was offered it I would certainly like to give it a go. But we will get the weekend out of the way first and we will go from there."
