Morrell hails 'fantastic' effort
The Shakers were beaten on penalties by Shrewsbury in their semi-final second leg, but the 34-year-old believes the team deserve a "pat on the back" for the effort they have shown throughout the year. He told the club's official website: "With such a small squad to do that well I think it's fantastic. Credit to the manager, the staff and the players. "They've dug in, they've played with injuries when they shouldn't because we've got numbers low. "When you reflect on that later on I think the lads need a good pat on the back. The lads want to play if they've got knocks and that's a great mentality and attitude to have. "I think if you look over his [manager Alan Knill] 10 years he's gone from 19th, 17th, 13th to fourth. We are definitely one of the top four teams in this division if not top three, two or even one but it sometimes doesn't work out like that."
