Late Shrews strike denies Shakers
Both sides made light of appalling conditions and Danny Nardiello gave the visitors the lead. Nardiello skipped through the surface water, passed three defenders, then played a one-two with Andy Morrell before finding the top corner with a great strike from 18 yards out. Bury's veteran keeper Wayne Brown coped comfortably with long-range shots from Dean Holden and Waide Fairhurst, while Shrews keeper Andres Arestidou did just as well to save a Michael Jones free-kick. Shrewsbury used three substitute strikers to press for an equaliser and, seconds after the 90-minute mark, Omer Riza centred for skipper Coughlan to head in off the far post for his first goal of the season.
