Knill hails Barry-Murphy

Bury left-back Brian Barry-Murphy has won round manager Alan Knill with his performances last season for the Shakers.

The 29-year-old Irishman has been offered a new contract to extend his stay at Gigg Lane, having become a mainstay of the team since Knill's arrival.

"When I came to the club, Murph was one who surprised me the most," Knill told the Bury Times.

"I didn't know whether he would be part of my plans, but everything I have asked him to do, he has done it.

"He deserves a new contract because he has worked hard and done everything we wanted."
