Bury boss Alan Knill is likely to wait until the summer to appoint an assistant manager at Gigg Lane.

Knill had been helped by Chris Brass immediately after he took charge of the Shakers, but Brass has now returned to his post as head of the club's centre of excellence.

"Unless something comes up before the end of the season we will probably go as we are," Knill told the Bury Times.

"It isn't ideal, but because there are only eight games to go instead of 28, we can afford to stick it out until the summer.

"If someone becomes available then we may well change things, but there isn't long to go until the end of the season now."
