Knill flattered by Swans talk
08 Jun 2009 - 14:16:45
Bury boss Alan Knill has admitted to being flattered by reports linking him with the managerial vacancy at Swansea City.
Knill, who played for the Welsh club in the late 1980s, is believed to be a shortlist of candidates to replace Wigan-bound Roberto Martinez at the Liberty Stadium.
"To be linked to Swansea is flattering but there isn't a job there at the moment," he told the Bury Times.
"I must say, however, that they are a great club with unbelievable potential. They are now starting to realise some of that potential since they moved into their new stadium.
"It is good to be linked with the job, but I wouldn't even be in the frame if my players hadn't performed so well this season."
