Knill calls for realism at Bury
26 Jan 2010 - 11:59:42
Bury manager Alan Knill has called for the club's supporters to appreciate the position the League Two high-flyers have found themselves in.
They sit third in the table after an excellent run of just two defeats in their last 19 games, but sections of the fans showed dissatisfaction after Saturday's 1-0 win against Hereford United.
The Shakers ground out another crucial victory thanks to an early Mike Jones strike and they sit just one point behind second-placed Bournemouth.
Speaking to the local media, Knill said: "We're all trying to do the right thing - we are third in the league and winning every week, but with some people nothing is ever good enough.
"Everyone expects us to beat teams and if we don't have the ball for the 90 minutes we are rubbish.
"Wayne Brown went out before the game and two St John's ambulance people say he is the worst keeper we have had here for years."
