Knill: We deserved win

Bury manager Alan Knill insisted his team were worthy of their 2-1 victory over Oxford at the Kassam Stadium. Tom Lees' opener for the Shakers was cancelled out by Jack Midson's leveller in the first half, but the visitors snatched maximum points when Ryan Lowe finished with 11 minutes remaining. And Knill believes his team have more to offer after battling their way to three points. He said: "I am delighted for the players, I thought we thoroughly deserved that victory. "It was a great goal from Ryan Lowe and just showed that we were prepared to battle all the way to the end of the match. "It was a good game and I think Oxford are going to cause a few teams problems this season. They have got some decent players and they made life difficult for us at times. "But in the end we scored two good goals and the most important thing was that we picked up three points away from home. "It was a solid performance and one which warranted all the hard work that we had put in in midweek. "I am delighted for Ryan, but there are still things to improve on as a team and I`m sure we will get better and better if we keep working on those things."
