Knill: Missed chances were costly

Bury manager Alan Knill was left to rue missed opportunities after a 1-0 defeat at Wycombe. Wanderers striker Scott Rendell was on the scoresheet as the Shakers missed the chance to move up to second. "I thought we were the better team first half and they were in the second half. If I'm going to be honest it looked like a draw and we said at half-time there was only ever going to be one goal in it. We had chances first half and didn't take them and then we gave them a goal. "It could be worse. We could be third from bottom instead of third from top. The disappointing thing for me was that when we went a goal down, we kept giving the ball back and we didn't play it how I expect us to play, by passing it. We did that first half and made quite a few chances second half. "When we're not firing at the top end of the pitch we have to keep a clean sheet. We didn't today and it's cost us three points. "I've said to the team many times that I believe we're as good as anyone in the league. I don't think there is anyone to fear but we have to be ruthless at both ends of the pitch and today we weren't."
