Knill lauds Shakers

Bury manager Alan Knill hailed his players' performance as they outfought and outplayed Cheltenham at Whaddon Road to win 2-0. Ryan Lowe inspired the Shakers to their third win of the season with a sparkling display against a lacklustre home side, firing the visitors into the lead from the penalty spot in the 11th minute. Bury created a succession of chances afterwards but did not make the game safe until five minutes from time, when Michael Jones drilled a low shot past Scott Brown. "I thought we were excellent, full credit to the players and my staff because it's been a tough week for us but the result was everything," said Knill. "We worked really hard on our shape to play Cheltenham, a good side especially at home who play in a diamond so we worked hard on that. "We looked solid from start to finish and we are a good side counter attacking."
